‘Rogue Squadron’, the ‘Star Wars’ film which was supposed to be directed by Patty Jenkins was removed by Disney from its release calendar. The movie was scheduled to be released on December 22, 2023 but was taken off the studio’s production schedule last year. Hence, this recent development hasn’t come as a shock to the industry and fans.

On the other hand, Disney announced the release dates for a few of its upcoming films. ‘Snow White’ will be out on March 22, 2024 and ‘Inside Out 2’, a follow-up to the 2015 critically acclaimed Pixar film, will arrive in cinemas on June 14, 2024. ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, directed by Barry Jenkins will be released on July 5, 2024.

Also, the theme-park ride adaptation “Haunted Mansion” will open on August 11, 2023, instead of its previous date of March 10, 2023. Disney also revealed that an untitled Marvel movie will be released on September 6, 2024.

‘Rogue Squandron’ was expected to be the first “Star Wars” movie to be released in theaters since ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ (2019).
