Disney has announced a major reshuffle of its release calendar, pushing back several major films, including the ‘Avatar’ sequels and the ‘Avengers’ sequels.
The ‘Avatar’ sequels, which were originally scheduled for release in 2024, 2026 and 2028, have all been delayed. ‘Avatar 3’ will now be released in 2025, ‘Avatar 4’ in 2029, and ‘Avatar 5’ in 2031.
The ‘Avengers’ sequels, which were originally scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027, have also been delayed by one year. ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ will now be released on May 1, 2026 and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will now be released on May 7, 2027.
The ‘Avatar’ sequels are the most anticipated films of the decade and the delays are sure to disappoint fans. However, the extra time should allow director James Cameron to create even more stunning visuals for audiences.
The ‘Avengers’ sequels are also highly anticipated and the delays will give the studio more time to develop the films as fans expect.
