James Cameron is currently one of the most celebrated directors in Hollywood for his iconic films like ‘The Terminator’ (1984-1991) film series, ‘Titanic’ (1997), ‘Avatar’ (2009) and lots more.
As his latest film ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ (2022) just got released, James Cameron is at present arguably the most talked about personality on the internet. According to reports, released on December 16, ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ has already garnered $1 billion at the box office and gave 2022 a blockbuster ending.
Now few US reports are roaming around that he has already started filming ‘Avatar 4’. Hence Cameron was also seen promoting the fourth part in several events along with ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’. Recently during a question and answer round with the Empire magazine, Cameron was asked whether he felt bad that he was not able to tell the other stories he wanted to because ‘Avatar’ took so much time to be made. In reply Cameron admitted that he always had two kind of thoughts on this topic.
James shared, “The first thought is that the world of ‘Avatar’ is so sprawling that I can tell most of the stories I want to tell within it and try many of the stylistic techniques that I hope to explore. And secondly, yes, our time as artists is finite. I will always mourn some of the stories that I don’t get to make.”
However, Cameron also shared that he feels great satisfaction too when other directors want to explore and try out his ideas, “Like Kathryn Bigelow did with ‘Strange Days’ (1995) and Robert Rodriguez did when I passed him the baton on ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ (2019). I look forward to more collaborations in the future with directors I admire.”
