The writers’ strike is an ongoing strike that began on July 14, 2023. The American actors’ union went on strike over an ongoing labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
Hence, due to this strike, it’s been three months and Hollywood has paused. No shooting, no events and even very few releases have been happening currently in Hollywood. Several films also postponed their premieres at film festivals.
But did you know that when Hollywood could barely make any changes during these three months, Taylor Swift was the only star who could perform at her Eras Tour in every city mentioned in the US? We also learnt that she is the only star who could even shoot for her Eras Tour movie in the middle of this ongoing strike.
Swift’s Eras Tour has become the top-grossing world tour concert of all time and she has reportedly met all of SAG-AFTRA’s demands to film and produce. In fact, Taylor’s team worked with major studios of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers during the strike. Hence, her upcoming film ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ has been self-produced by the pop-star herself. It’s been reported that she might spend $10 to $20 million on the film.
We also learnt that she also approached SAG-AFTRA with an agreement to shoot and promote her film during the strike, and interestingly, she got the permission. As ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ is not a fictional or dramatic film, it didn’t have to suffer much to shoot.
After the grand success of the Eras Tour, it’s been confirmed that Taylor Swift doesn’t need any major production company or any big streamers like Netflix or Disney to present her film to the audiences.
