Farah Naaz, who used to be one of the popular actresses from the ’80s, got her big chance to make her debut with Yash Raj Films in ‘Faasle’ (1985) and also to work opposite stars like Sunil Dutt and Rekha. Farah Naaz is the elder sister of actress Tabu.
Back then, Farah was so popular that she used to give back-to-back films within a year like ‘Palay Khan’, ‘Naseeb Apna Apna’ and ‘Love 86’ in 1986, then ‘Marte Dam Tak’, ‘7 Saal Baad’, ‘Imaandaar’, ‘Diljalaa’ and ‘Vijetha Vikram’ in 1987, ‘Woh Phir Aayegi’, ‘Mahakali’, ‘Yateem’, ‘Hamara Khandan’, ‘Mohabbat Ke Dushman’, ‘Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani’, ‘Halaal Ki Kamai’, ‘Paap Ko Jalakar Raakh Kar Doonga’ in 1988 and more.
In ‘Yateem’, she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a young woman who is orphaned and forced to fend for herself.
Although Farah left the entertainment industry a long time ago, she has worked with several A-listers in the ’80s like Rishi Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Anil Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Aamir Khan, Jackie Shroff, Aditya Pancholi, etc.
She got married to Vindu Dara Singh, son of Dara Singh, in 1996 and got divorced in 2002. Later, Farah got married to Sumeet Saigal in 2003.
Before marrying Vindu Dara Singh, Farah had to go against her family as they were strictly against their match because Vindu was struggling with his career and Farah’s mother wanted a well-established man and Dara Singh wanted a non-working daughter-in-law. After marrying in 1996, the couple welcomed their son Fateh Randhawa in 1997. Later with some uncleared issues, the couple parted ways in 2002 and Fateh’s custody was given to Farah.

After living independently with her son, Farah got involved with actor Sumeet Saigal who started in the late ’80s and become more visible in the early ’90s. Before getting married, Sumeet and Farah have worked in three films together, ‘Imaandaar’ (1987), ‘Pati Patni Aur Tawaif’ (1990) and ‘Janam Se Pehle’ (1994). It’s been heard that the duo did not have any long-term relationship. They got married instantly after becoming a couple.

In 2017, Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter and talked about Farah Naaz in an appreciative yet brutal manner, which went viral instantly. He shared that how Farah used to be the prettiest actress of her times and would have achieved more success if only she was more professional and less emotional about her career.
