In his six decades of career, Amitabh Bachchan has given numerous remarkable films, where we got to watch him in stunning avatars. Whether it’s ‘Laawaris’ (1981), ‘Shahenshah’ (1988), ‘Khuda Gawah’ (1992) or in ‘Paa’ (2009), every film has a unique presentation of Big B.
No wonder, the veteran star has made a revolution in the Indian film industry. His superb acting skills, his amazing dialogue delivery, his romance with the actresses back in the ’80s, all have become legendary. Audiences as well as the film industry, everyone cherishes his works even now.
Another quirky avatar of Bachchan we got to witness was in ‘Yaarana’ (1981) film. That electrifying outfit, which was worn by the star in the song “Sara Zamana” was absolutely stunning to watch on screen back in those days. But did you know that the extraordinary outfit with lighting in it, was actually Big B’s idea?
Yes, that’s what we learnt from him recently. On the set of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’, the ‘Sholay’ star revealed the news himself. But not only that, he also jokingly shared that later he regretted choosing such an outfit. “That outfit was also my idea. I regretted it later though. I told the designer that I wanted bulbs and it needed to spark.” Big B shared, “He got it made and I asked him how did he do it. The designer said, ‘I have attached it all to the wire and that will go to the plug’. So, all those steps that you saw in the dance were because of the plug as the electricity was running in me.”
Interestingly, he also suggested the producer to shoot the song at an indoor stadium in Kolkata, which had a capacity of twelve thousand people. But it’s amazing to know that fifty thousand people had showed up to watch Amitabh Bachchan.
