So here it is DC fans. Putting all the speculations to rest, James Gunn and Peter Safran have finally revealed the new Superman. In an exciting turn of events, James Gunn shared the big news with Hollywood Reporter.
David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast in as Superman and Lois Lane in the upcoming film ‘Superman: Legacy’. Fans got quite disappointed last year when James Gunn shockingly revealed that Henry Cavill will not be reprising the role of Superman anymore.
Although Henry Cavill has appeared as Superman in as many as five films, namely, ‘Man Of Steel’ (2013), ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ (2016), ‘Justice League’ (2017), ‘Zach Snyder’s Justice League’ (2021) and ‘Black Adam’ (2022), the first one was the only film that featured him as the sole lead.
Accurate! (They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people). https://t.co/1FtwYIDeYj

This time, James Gunn has written and will also be directing ‘Superman: Legacy’. According to Hollywood Reporter, he took a lot of screen tests of several actors. He selected three actors and three actresses for Superman and Lane’s roles and the first day of the testing, the actors were seen in predetermined pairs like Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan, Tom Brittney and Phoebe Dynevor and David Corenswet and Emma Mackey.
Although James hasn’t confirmed yet, he hopes to get ‘Superman: Legacy’ on floors in early 2024 and release in July 2025. Warner Bros. is currently going through a rough phase as ‘The Flash’ (2023) has flopped at the box office.
