We had previously let you all know that Dakota Johnson has been roped into superhero universe for the very first time. It has now come to light that Dakota will be seen as Madame Web, a Marvel character.
After the huge success of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021), Sony Pictures was looking forward to expand its Marvel superheroes. According to Deadline website, it was reported that Sony has finally found Dakota to be its latest and also first ever female superhero in February 2022. They have also revealed that S. J. Clarkson has also been roped in as the director of the film.
In the Marvel comics, Madame Web has been depicted as an old woman with myasthenia gravis and thus was connected to a life support system that looked like a spider web. Due to her age and medical condition, Madame Web never actively fought any villains. Madame Web is also known as a mentor of Peter Parker aka Spiderman. Therefore, it will be very surprising, as well as exciting to see how Sony will be exhibiting Dakota as Madame Web.
Recently, the ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ (2015-2018) star has finally opened up about the film with Entertainment Tonight and talked about her new journey as a superhero. She said, “I can tell you pretty much nothing that isn’t already on the internet. It’s pretty cool to be in the Marvel world, especially with a character that’s not so known. There’s a lot of space for us to make her very cool and I’m so excited.”
Dakota has also shared her long desire about how she has always been into action genre and said, “It’s always been a dream of mine to do some kind of massive action movie. I always wanted to do, like, a female Indiana Jones. There’s something about those movies that you are like, Wow, a real human being can do that!”
