Ever since director, Todd Phillips revealed the news of ‘Joker’ sequel, fans all over the world are quite excited to watch their favourite actor, Joaquin Phoenix again in the titular role of Arthur Fleck. In the 2019 film, Phoenix had given a mind-blowing performance yet again, after giving numerous unforgettable works like ‘Gladiator’ (2000), ‘I’m Still Here’ (2010), ‘Her’ (2013), ‘You Were Never Really Here’ (2017), ‘Mary Magdalene’ (2018) and many more.
Apart from Phoenix’s return in ‘Joker’ sequel, there was another rumour roaming around and that is, popstar, Lady Gaga was in talks for another titular role, Harley Quinn. Now, Gaga has finally confirmed the news by sharing a quick teaser of the sequel on Instagram. In the video we can see silhouettes of a man and a woman, introduced as Phoenix and Gaga along with the release date of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, which is on October 4, 2024 in the very end.
Director, Todd Phillips has also shared the teaser on his Instagram and wrote, “Cheek to Cheek. 10.04.2024.”
Previously in the ‘Batman’ film series, Harley Quinn was portrayed by Margot Robbie and she had absolutely nailed it in each franchise and also in other films like ‘Suicide Squad’ (2016), ‘Birds Of Prey’ (2020) and ‘The Suicide Squad’ (2021). Now, let’s wait and watch whether Lady Gaga is also able to blow our mind.
