Chris Rock, the renowned comedian, who had hosted the Academy Awards 2022 in March and got slapped by Will Smith during the show in front of a million audiences for joking on Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness.
The incident spread in rocket speed and became one of the hottest news on social media. Chris Rock and Will Smith both got judged by netizens, though the latter faced more brickbats. Will Smith even got banned by Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences from attending the Oscars for 10 years. Will Smith later had apologized for his behavior.
Recently, Chris Rock has revealed that he has turned down to host the Oscars in 2023. On Sunday August 28, Rock made an appearance in the Arizona Financial Theatre in downtown Phoenix and he was asked to host next year’s award ceremony and he straightly refused it.
According to Arizona Republic, Chris compared returning to the Oscars with returning to the crime scene like as an example, the murder trial of O.J. Simpson, whose ex-wife’s murder was happened in an Italian restaurant. Rock said, “Returning to the award ceremony would be like asking Nicole Brown Simpson to go back to the restaurant.”
