Ana de Armas, who is working in the industry since her teenage days, grabbed audiences’ attention with ‘Blade Runner 2049’ (2017) and ‘Knives Out’ (2019). Later she blew everyone’s mind in ‘No Time To Die’ (2021) and ‘The Gray Man’ (2022) too.
Although the 34-year-old actress had played side roles in all those films, now for the first time she is seen in the lead, that too as Marilyn Monroe in ‘Blonde’ (2022). Marilyn Monroe was one of the most popular actresses and sex symbols in the ‘50s and ‘60s in the industry, as well as an emblem of that era’s sexual revolution. From the film, it is quite evident that Ana de Armas has absolutely nailed it with the transformation into a blonde woman by adapting Monroe’s way of talking, living and her styling.
Recently, in an interview with Variety, Chris Evans, who has worked with her in ‘Knives Out’ and ‘The Gray Man’ couldn’t stop complimenting Ana de Armas. He gave his best reaction after watching ‘Blonde’. He said, “I think this was one of the first opportunities she had to really sink her teeth into something incredibly demanding. I didn’t see one bit of fear. I saw excitement.”
Evans further recalled his first reaction after watching Ana de Armas’ first look from the film and said, “I remember looking at it and saying, ‘OK, that’s Marilyn … where’s your shot? That’s you? (Ana de Armas) Holy shit! You’re going to win an Oscar for this’.”
