Bruce Lee biopic is in the offing; director Ang Lee’s son to portray the titular role

Bruce Lee, one of the most legendary martial artists in history, as well as an eminent actor, was quite famous in the ‘70s in Hollywood and finally a biopic of him is on its way!

Bruce Lee was the first actor who introduced intense martial arts in Hollywood. He had made his debut with ‘The Big Boss’ in 1971 and achieved immense box office success across the world, which catapulted him to stardom. Hence, when he followed up with his second film ‘Fist Of Fury’ in 1972, Lee broke his own records of box office success, set by ‘The Big Boss’.

Born in California, the Chinese actor is still considered by critics, media, and other artists to be the most influential martial artist of all time, who bridged the gap between East and West.

Bruce Lee passed away at a very young age of 32 in 1973 but his death couldn’t make him lose his popularity. He is still being a prominent influence on modern combat sports, including judo, karate, mixed martial arts and boxing, as well as modern popular culture, including film, television, comics, animation and video games.

Now it’s been reported by Deadline that a biopic of Lee is in the offing. The biopic titled, ‘Bruce Lee’ will be helmed by Ang Lee, who won Oscars three times for ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’ in 2001, ‘Brokeback Mountain’ in 2006 and ‘Life Of Pi’ in 2013.

It’s also been revealed that the titular role of Bruce Lee in the biopic will be played by none other than, Mason Lee, the son of the director Ang Lee.

Although we don’t have much information about the biopic currently, surely the world is quite excited to watch the film.
