Britney Spears is making a musical comeback with a new song, featuring rapper Will.i.am. The song, which is currently under wraps, is set to be released later this month.
This will be Spears’ first new music since she won her legal battle to be released from a controversial thirteen-year conservatorship. Apart from appearing on Sir Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” remix last year, Spears has not released any new material since 2020.
The news of Spears’ comeback has been met with excitement by fans, who have been eagerly awaiting new music from the pop star. In a recent Instagram post, Spears said that she is “excited to share my new music with you” and that she has been “working hard in the studio.”
Will.i.am is a Grammy-winning rapper and producer who is known for his work with The Black Eyed Peas. He has also collaborated with other major artists, including Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and Lady Gaga.
A planned collaboration between Beyoncé and Britney Spears fell through as reported in January 2023 in a Page Six report.
The two music superstars were reportedly in talks to work together on a new music video, but the project ultimately did not come to fruition. It is unclear why the plan fell through and reps for the singers did not respond to requests for comment.
Beyoncé and Spears have worked together before, appearing in a Pepsi commercial together in 2004. The duo sang Queen’s hit “We Will Rock You” alongside fellow pop star Pink.
