Today was going to be very interesting and one of the most significant of the year. After all, a much-in-the-news biopic was up for release but at the eleventh hour, it got postponed. Now just one flick will be hitting screens and it seems to be in a similar zone as a last year’s super hit flick.
‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ stars John Abraham in the lead role and when the film was announced, it was Sushant Singh Rajput who was signed. The actor left, citing prior commitments. It is directed by Robbie Grewal, who earlier made films like ‘Samay’ (2003), ‘MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar’ (2007) and ‘Aloo Chaat’ (2009). His father has worked in India’s RAW agency and as a result, the film promises to be high on research and authenticity. The film also features Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff and Sikandar Kher. The hype is very limited and audiences will adopt a wait-and-watch policy. If the response is positive, the film will find audiences or else it will not. Moreover, it looks too similar to ‘Raazi’, which was also about an Indian spy in Pakistan. The opening can be in the range of Rs. 2-3 crore.
