The first semi final in the ICC Cricket World Cup saw team India and New Zealand lock horns against each other as they fought it out at Manchester to clinch a spot in the finals. Out of all the teams in the World Cup, Team India has had the best run as they lost only encounter against England and won all their important clashes. The performance resulted in Team India finishing at the top of the league table before the knockout games.
The way India played throughout the tournament, they were considered favourites to win the World Cup. However a cricket match is not won on paper and one bad day in an important fixture can throw any team out of the tournament. It is exactly the thing that happened with Team India. India failed to chase New Zealand’s score and henceforth got eliminated from the tournament. Although billions of hearts broke as team India got knocked out from the tournament, the majority of people saw the positive side of it and wished the team best of luck for the future. Bollywood celebrities too lined up one after one to show their support for the men in blue.
