Besides acting, Regina Cassandra divulges her philanthropic side; visits Aditya Mehta Foundation to celebrate World Disability Day

Apart from being a revered actress, Regina Cassandra is also a philanthropist at heart. She is one of the trustees of the Aditya Mehta Foundation, a non-profitable organisation (NPO), which aids people with disabilities to pursue sports while providing self-sustenance. She visited the foundation in lieu of World Disability Day celebrated on December 3, 2022.

The actress has been with the NPO since 2014 and has been to various Infinity rides with them. The foundation focuses on scouting out talent among the disabled population of India and providing them with counselling to help them get better at their sport/ find a sport that is suitable for them. They also focus on finding and nurturing talent available in the nation’s Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF and ITBP), where there are quite a few permanent injuries which arise while a soldier is on duty. The foundation’s hard work made it possible for the para-athletes have secured one place in women’s category and one in Mens At Paralympics in 2024.

Talking about the initiative, Regina shared, “It’s so nice to see AMF come such a long way. No one knows who our country’s para athletes are but they are still putting us on the map. I’m so proud of the hard work that NGO and athlete’s have put in. Paralympics 2024, here we come.”

On work front, Regina has had quite a successful 2022 with projects like ‘Rocket Boys’, ‘Shoorveer’,  ‘Saakini Daakini’. Now she is busy working in movies like ‘Karungaapiyum’, ‘Soorpangai’, ‘Nene Na’, ‘Borrder’, ‘Flash Back’ and ‘Rocket Boys Season 2’.
