Benedict Cumberbatch is currently in the headlines for his latest Marvel film ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’, which released on May 6. Directed by Sam Raimi, the film has already marked the record of being the highest opener of 2022, earning $700 million at the box office till now. ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’ is a sequel of the 2016 film, ‘Doctor Strange’.
Now, it’s been reported that Benedict Cumberbatch will be next seen outside Marvel, in a periodic drama titled, ‘The Hood’. The actor is going to team up with the celebrated director, Paul Greengrass, who has given several notable works like ‘Bloody Sunday’ (2002), ‘The Bourne Supremacy ‘ (2004), ‘United 93’ (2006), ‘Captain Philips’ (2013) and many more, for which he has won BAFTA Awards, Academy Awards, etc.
‘The Hood’ will be both written and directed by Paul Greengrass. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is all set to take place during the Peasants’ Revolt, a major uprising that took part across large parts of England in 1381 in response to issues such as socio-economic and political tensions and high taxation.
Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated for the prestigious Oscar for his film ‘The Power Of The Dog’ (2021) this year, but Will Smith’s ‘King Richard’ (2021) performance took away the trophy.
