Based on the Spanish film ‘The Invisible Guest’, the novelty in the story is apparent. Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu have acted superbly and throughout the film, their conversation scenes are brilliantly executed. Amrita Singh has done a decent job too. Aided by an excellent screenplay and good dialogues, the film is mainly meant for the youth and multiplex audience, and only for those who love thrillers. Finding favour from the mass audience can be tough as it doesn’t have any typical Bollywood masala ingredients like comedy, action, romance, item numbers, etc. The locations in Glasgow are beautifully captured by the cinematographer. The rich production values and perfect editing totally enhance the final product. However, too many flashbacks are likely to confuse the viewers. Despite moving at a slow pace, Director Sujoy Ghosh receives full marks for making an extraordinary murder mystery and a great thriller. The suspense drama dominates till the last scene of the film.
Rating: 3/5
Even though the promotion of the film is below the mark, the excellent promos and good word of mouth would ensure a decent business in the first week.
