Bollywood is having a dark time as it has again lost yet another distinguished personality. Director-producer B.S. Shaad aka Boota Singh Shaad passed away last night, on May 2. According to sources, he was in his eighties and was living in his village near Sirsa, Haryana since the past few days where he took his last breath.
B.S. Shaad worked with various celebrated stars from the ‘80s and ‘90s such as Shammi Kapoor, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi, Sunil Dutt and many more. He will be remembered for his directed films like ‘Zakhmi Dil’ (1981), ‘Giddha’ (1984), etc. He had also produced popular films such as ‘Nishaan’ (1983), ‘Himmat Aur Mehnat’ (1987), ‘Insaaf Ki Devi’ (1992), ‘Prem Rog’ (1982), among others.
Before becoming a director and producer, Shaad began his career as an actor. He acted in few Punjabi films like ‘Kulli Yaar Di’ (1969) and ‘Mittar Pyare Nu’ (1975) and a Hindi film ‘Kora Badan’ (1974), which he had also directed.
