Ever since ‘Brahmāstra’ (2022) was announced, director Ayan Mukerji had assured that the trilogy will provide a whole new experience for the audience. The fantasy action adventure film is one of the biggest franchises of Indian cinema and the onus is on the makers to deliver on the promise made and break barriers with the three films.
The first installment in the trilogy, ‘Brahmāstra: Part One Shiva’ (2022), starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy, released in cinemas worldwide last year, and earned the title of super hit at the box office, earning over Rs. 230 Crore domestically and nearly Rs. 400 Crore globally. Ever since its release, fans and audiences have been waiting for the next part and today Ayan Mukerji made an important announcement regarding the future of the upcoming parts.
Ayan Mukerji revealed that he will shoot both the parts, ‘Brahmāstra: Part 2 Dev’ and ‘Brahmāstra: Part 3’ at the same time and also added that they aim to make both the parts bigger and more ambitious than the first one.
The makers are currently working on the script and casting of both the films and once its finalized, the film will go on floors. While ‘Brahmāstra: Part 2 Dev’ will release in December 2026, ‘Brahmāstra: Part 3’ will arrive in cinemas a year later, in December 2027.
In another development, it was revealed that Ayan Mukerji will direct the sequel of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘War’ (2019). While Hrithik Roshan will essay the lead role in the sequel, the casting for other actors is yet to be done.
