Swades released in 2004 is a thoughtful movie. The director and his team made sure the casting is right and all characters were appropriate for their roles. He gave an insight to the rural parts of India, their lifestyle, concise outlook and uplifted the treatment of patriotism. He also knew the pulse of the audience at that time.
Shah Rukh Khan’s acting skills were highly praised. Many critics wrote his performance came straight from the heart. Gayatri Joshi also played her part very well and she looked very beautiful on screen. Rahman’s music is listened till today.
Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Jodha Akbar’, are two of his biggest hits. His last movie, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ failed miserably at the box office.
