Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma scripted history with ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. The film, which was released on June 15, 2001, became India’s highest-grossing film of all time and achieved cult status. The team is now ready to release the sequel, ‘Gadar 2’, on August 11, and it is learnt that before the sequel, the makers are planning to re-release ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ in cinema halls across the country on June 9, 2023. The film will also celebrate its 22nd anniversary next month.
Reportedly, the team desires to celebrate the legacy of the original film before introducing the audience to the world of ‘Gadar 2′. Therefore, it will be re-releasing the first part in theatres across the country on June 9.
Previously, it was reported that the makers will re-release the first part on the occasion of its twenty-second anniversary on June 15, but they had to give up the idea since it would have meant clashing with the magnum opus ‘Adipurush’, which is releasing on June 16.
In addition, director Anil Sharma also planned to release ‘Gadar 2’s teaser in June. The teaser might be attached to the prints of ‘Gadar’, or they could conduct a huge launch on June 15 to celebrate twenty-two years of the film.
However, a final decision on the teaser release will be made soon.
