Seems like after losing the long term defamation lawsuit against Johnny Depp in June, Amber Heard is devastated financially and also mentally. Even after the end of the trial, her lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft had requested the jury to lower the sued amount from $10 million, which was awarded to Johnny Depp in damages by the jury and now she has to pay $8 million to the actor.

For nearly two months, Amber Heard has been struggling with her poor financial condition as she was seen shopping from a discount store. Also, a few weeks ago, it was reported that she had sold her luxurious Yucca Valley house, located in California at $1.5 million.

Now, the ‘Aquaman’ (2018) actress has been reported by her spokesperson that she has hired a new team of lawyers to appeal the defamation trial verdict. According to Entertainment Tonight, Heard will now be represented by lawyers, David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown of Ballard Spahr while Elaine Bredehoft will be leaving her position. The lawyers, Axelrod and Brown had also publicly announced the news and confirmed it by saying, “We welcome the opportunity to represent Ms. Heard in this appeal as it is a case with important First Amendment implications for every American.”

According to People magazine, Heard’s spokesperson said, “When it comes to protecting the fundamental right of Freedom of Speech, we look at the jury’s decision to paraphrase a famous quote not ‘as the beginning of the end, but merely the end of the beginning.’ A different court warrants different representation, particularly as so much new evidence is now coming to light.”
