The market was buzzing earlier this year when it was reported that Akshay Kumar would premiere his upcoming film ‘OMG 2’ on an OTT platform instead of releasing it in cinemas. Reportedly, the superstar made the decision based on the poor box office performance of his previous films. In response to the reports, Akshay has announced today that ‘OMG 2’ would be released in theatres on August 11 this year.
Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle and shared the release date with a new poster of the film and tweeted, “आ रहे हैं हम, आइयेगा आप भी (We are coming, you come too). 11th August. In theatres. #OMG2.”

Just like previous part, Akshay Kumar will be once again seen playing the role of a God in the sequel. It also co-stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. Directed by Amit Rai, the film reportedly is based on the importance of sex education.
‘OMG 2’ will now lock horns at the box office with Sunny Deol‘s much awaited film ‘Gadar 2’ and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’.
