Eleven years after the success of the hit film ‘Oh My God’ (2012), the makers are now coming up with the sequel ‘Oh My God 2’ which will once again see Akshay Kumar in the role of a God. Interestingly, this time, the sequel sees the entry of some new actors like Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. While Akshay was seen as Lord Krishna in ‘Oh My God’, in the sequel, he will be seen reprising the role of Lord Shiva.
There were rumours that ‘Oh My God 2’ will release directly on OTT. But according to the latest reports, Akshay along with his partners, Ashwin Varde, Viacom18 and Jio Studios have decided to release ‘Oh My God 2’ theatrically. The reports claim that the makers along with Akshay Kumar had never officially confirmed that the film will be out directly on OTT. As per the reports, the film has been finalized as a theatrical release and that the release date of the film will be announved soon.
A few months ago, it came to light that ‘Oh My God 2’ is about the importance of sex education and that writer-director Amit Rai has smartly linked this topic with an unusual court case, involving God.
