It was a huge privilege for everyone on the sets when the football legend PK Banerjee, who was an integral part of the team during this golden era of football, met Ajay Devgn and the players. He shared his knowledge and experiences with the team as it was a huge walk down memory lane for him reliving those glory years.
The team shot across different locales around Kolkata and also on the outskirts, starting early at 4am and finishing at 5pm each day.
Ajay Devgn visited the city after almost 13 years and expressed his desire to come back soon. He also blames Kolkata food and sweets for his unexpected weight gain.
‘Maidaan’ is based on the golden years of Indian Football and will see Ajay Devgn essay the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim who is also known as the father of Indian football for his achievements in making India a top nation in football during his lifetime.
