Bollywood’s obsession with biopics and sports biopics especially seems to be rising every day. After successful movies like ‘Bhaag Milka Bhaag’, ‘Mary Kom’, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, and ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’, there are some coming this year as well.
There’s a biopic of football coach Syed, the character is to be played by Ajay Devgn. The film will be produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Amit Sharma. If reports are to be believed, Ajay Devgn is all good and sorted to start the filming of this biopic from the month of July.
However, there’s a catch to it. Even though it tentatively is to start from July, it all depends if Ajay Devgn can finish his prior work commitments within the stipulated time because the schedule of the football biopic happens to be a ‘start to end’ schedule of a long duration of 4 months. And why not? Afterall, the time lapse to be shown in the film will cover a decade.
The casting department too seems to have done their work right in order to get lookalikes of famous Indian Football players, Chuni Goswami and Jarnail Singh.
As far as the locations for the film are concerned, the shooting of the film will cover 3 cities in total – Mumbai, Kolkata and Lucknow.
The International locations haven’t been finalized yet but the possible places might be either of the places between Rome, Jakarta and Melbourne.
South Actress Keerthy Suresh will feature as the lead actress in the film.
Given all the interesting parameters which the film has, this surely has the makings of a fantastic sports biopic.
