Acclaimed filmmaker and author Aishwaryaa R Dhanush recently launched the third installment of the Homepreneur Awards, which encourage and recognizes talent of businesswomen and entrepreneurs.
In an inspiring speech, megastar Rajinikanth’s daughter and Dhanush’s wife stressed on the importance of women initiating businesses of their own.
“They say that charity begins at home and I think these 8000 women have proved this, the ones who got nominated, the ones who have won, have proved that work begins at home. I think that this year’s motto should be ‘encouragement begins at home’,” Aishwaryaa said, inviting a thunderous applause from the audience.
In the last two editions of the Homepreneur awards, 8000 nominations have been submitted. Aishwaryaa hopes that more women get encouraged to start their own business and work towards empowerment.
“I hope that 8000 becomes 16000. I feel I am an example of someone who has been encouraged at home to do whatever small things I have done in my life. We should encourage women at home, give them the motivation,” she said on the stage.
Aishwaryaa, who turned author with her book Standing On An Apple Box: The Story Of A Girl Among The Stars, is also working on her next book which will be a work of fiction this time around.
