Actress Adah Sharma, who was missing from the big screen for a long time, is all set to make a comeback. Although she was last seen in an important cameo role in the Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi-starrer ‘Selfiee’ (2023), her last full-fledged role was in ‘Commando 3’ (2019), opposite Vidyut Jammwal.

Adah will be seen playing the lead role in the film ‘The Kerala Story’ and today, the makers announced that it will release in cinemas on May 5, 2023.

Director Sudipto Sen is the director as well as the writer of ‘The Kerala Story’, who previously directed films like ‘The Last Monk’ (2006), ‘Lucknow Times’ (2015) and ‘Aasma’ (2018).

‘The Kerala Story’, according to its makers, throws light on the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of around 32,000 women in Kerala who were “converted, radicalized, and used in terror missions in India and the world.”

In a press statement issued on Monday, the producers announced the release date with a poster which had a tagline that says, “Uncovering the truth that was kept hidden.”

‘The Kerala Story’ is bankrolled by Sunshine Pictures Private Limited of Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who also serves as the film’s creative director and co-writer.
