The Filmfare OTT Awards is an annual awards that honour artistic and technical excellence in the Hindi-language original programming over-the-top (OTT) streaming media. The first edition of the award ceremony was held in 2020. It included films and web series released between August 2019 and July 2020. The response to the award ceremony has been outstanding, with both the creators and viewers giving it big shout outs.
This year, projects released between August 2021 and July 2022 were selected for Filmfare OTT Awards 2022. Hosted by Gauahar Khan and Maniesh Paul, the ceremony was held on Wednesday, December 21 in Mumbai.
Stars like Raveena Tandon, Neena Gupta, Abhishek Bachchan, Amyra Dastur, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Neha Dhupia, Hardh Varrdhan Kapoor and several others had made the night shimmering with excitement on their faces for achieving such prestigious awards.
Abhishek Bachchan won the Best Actor Award for ‘Dasvi’ (2022) and the film also achieved the Best Film Award of 2022. Surely it’s a very joyous moment for Abhishek after all these years of ups and downs in his career.
Hence, Amitabh Bachchan couldn’t hold up his enthusiasm and divulged his excitement through social media. He shared a picture of his son Abhishek winning the awards and stated that Abhishek is his pride, “My pride .. my joy .. you have proved your point .. you were derided, ridiculed mocked .. but you silently without any tom tomming. Showed your mettle .. you are and shall ever be the BEST.”
In reply, Abhishek expressed his gratitude to his father and shared that he learnt from the best.
