In this crowd of legendary stars, there are various other actors who have got multiple potentials to stand out in Bollywood. Just like Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui or Vijay Raaz, there are also such actors who are not only capable of stunning us with their amazing acting skills, but also have mind-blowing writing skills as well.

Vineet Kumar Singh is such an example. It is known that Bollywood mostly focuses on nepotism and big stars even if these stars have become old enough not to match with certain characters, the industry has never given much recognition of these actors. Hence audiences don’t even know their other talents.

Vineet Kumar Singh’s dedication to his craft is evident in his performances. After participating in the show ‘Superstars Talent Hunt’, where director Mahesh Manjrekar was one of the judges, he made his Bollywood debut in a small role in Manjrekar’s ‘Pitaah’ (2002). His career took off with his role as Danish Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s web series ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ (2012). Later again in Kashyap’s film ‘Mukkabaaz’ (2018), Singh gave an extraordinary performance as boxer Shravan Singh. He trained for two years for the role and his dedication is to be commended.

After his critically acclaimed performance in ‘Mukkabaaz’, Vineet Kumar Singh went on to play supporting roles in several films, including ‘Gold’ (2018) and ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ (2019). However, he has truly found his niche in the web series medium, where he has been able to showcase his range and talent. In ‘Bard Of Blood’ (2019) and ‘Betaal’ (2020), both of which premiered on Netflix, Singh gave two brilliant performances as Veere Singh and Vikram Sarohi, respectively.

Vineet Kumar Singh’s portrayal of Veere Singh, an undercover agent in the Indian spy thriller Bard of Blood, won him rave reviews across the nation. Singh underwent extensive training from ex-commandos to prepare for the role.

Vineet Kumar Singh’s uncanny resemblance to the real Mohammad Shahbuddin in the web series ‘Rangbaaz 3’ (2018) made headlines, as did his massive transformation for the role.

Besides being an actor, Vineet is a very talented writer. Did you know the script of ‘Mukkabaaz’ was written by Singh himself? The story of the film shows Shravan Singh, an aspiring boxer, finds an enemy in Bhagwan Das Mishra, the head of a boxing federation. Thereafter, things take a turn for the worse after he falls for Bhagwan’s niece, Sunaina.

Even after making a mark with his acting, it was quite challenging for Vineet to convince filmmakers to work on his scripts. Later Anurag Kashyap came forward and helped him out as he had previously worked with the actor in ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ and ‘Ugly’ (2013). And luckily within no time, ‘Mukkabaaz’ has received much acclaim from the critics as well as the audiences.

In his last outing, ‘Siya’ which released on ZEE5 on June 16, 2023, starring Pooja Pandey and produced by Drishyam Films, it is the story about a small-town girl from one of India’s northern states who, despite all obstacles, decides to challenge oppressive patriarchy and it depicts the horrific crimes against women and it showcases a journey of a girl seeking justice against them.

In an interview to FirstPost, the 38-year-old actor said that he agreed to be a part of the film Siya because he believed in the story and the message it delivers. He said that the film mirrors the society at large, which is terrifying, and that he hoped it would serve as a wake-up call for many.

Vineet is a master of picking up the nuances of his characters through his looks, body language and diction. Today’s audience has access to international cinema through TV, OTT platforms and the internet. This means that they are no longer as easily impressed by star power and are more likely to appreciate actors who are talented but not necessarily famous. Bollywood needs to wake up to this reality and start recognizing the real talents in the industry.
