The most awaited film of the year, Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ is on its path to break box office records with a spectacular ‘superhero’ opening according to trade indicators.
Trade and key industry expert sources have claimed that the film which opened to glowing critical reviews claiming it to be ‘THE’ action superhero flick of all time, amassed approximately a Friday opening of Rs 10.85 crores coming after unprecedented advance openings and theatre bookings.
Reportedly, this is bigger than any Hindi movie opening for this year and is the highest opening day for any English movie ever in India for a non-holiday release!
This Day 1 figure is also reportedly 2.5 times the collections of ‘Avengers 1’ released in 2012! This is also a huge achievement despite a non holiday and limited release of 1500 screens across India, lesser than ‘Fast and Furious 7’ which had 2500 screens.
‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ has already opened with a bang across the global markets that opened on Wednesday. The superhero action fiesta was No. 1 in each of its debuts, such as France and Italy which saw its top opening of 2015. ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ also scored the best opening day of all time in a pair of Asian territories: The Philippines, Indonesia and Taiwan.
