Just after four months of marriage, Paris Hilton and her husband Carter Reum surprised fans by sharing the news of their new-born baby boy. The duo was quite successful in keeping details about them having a baby away from the media. Even no pictures of Hilton’s baby bump got leaked as well.
Just five days ago, Hilton took to her Instagram and shared few adorable pictures with her baby and with Carter Reum. Not only that, she also revealed the name of the baby in the caption, which is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.
For those wondering why Paris Hilton did not share the news about her pregnancy, the reason was that it’s a surrogate baby. Recently in an interview with Glamour UK, she finally opened up about the reason of why she chose surrogacy and decided not to get pregnant. Hilton shared that she kept the surrogacy plan a secret so that she could share the experience with her husband privately, “I felt my life has been so public, I really wanted to keep it private. Of course, it was hard not to tell anyone, because it’s such an exciting time. But I also loved being able to share this with just Carter.”
Now as her baby has been born, the 42-year-old hotel heiress finally wanted to reveal the reason behind opting for surrogacy. She shared, “I’m just so scared, I think, again, leading back to Provo Canyon School, or even being in a doctor’s office, just all of that. The shots, the IVs that they put in.”
She also shared about her medical and sexual abuse she endured at the Utah boarding school during her childhood, “When I was in The Simple Life, I had to be in a room when a woman was giving birth and that traumatized me as well. But I want a family so bad, it’s just the physical part of doing it. I’m just so scared…childbirth and death are the two things that scare me more than anything in the world.”
Hilton also shared that Kim Kardashian, who also welcomed her two babies via surrogacy, gave her the best advice about opting for surrogacy and she also consulted the same doctor, Dr. Huang.
At the end of the interview, while getting nostalgic and excited the same time, Paris shared that her baby boy just melts her heart, “I’m so obsessed with my little angel, and when he looks into my eyes, I just melt. He’s such a good baby.”
