Prithviraj Sukumaran is one of the most esteemed actors of the Indian film industry. Meanwhile, several of his hit films have been remade in other languages, such as the recent Chiranjeevi-starrer ‘GodFather’, based on ‘Lucifer’ and the upcoming ‘Selfiee’, featuring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi based on ‘Driving Licence’.
Prithviraj has not only worked in Malayalam films, but also made his mark in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. He made his Bollywood debut opposite Rani Mukerji in the comedy ‘Aiyyaa’ (2012), where he impressed as a Tamil art student with an intoxicating smell. This was followed by two more power-packed roles – as a tough cop in Arjun Kapoor-starrer ‘Aurangzeb’ (2012) and a deadly arms dealer in Taapsee Pannu-starrer ‘Naam Shabana’ (2017).
Since then, fans across India have greatly missed Prithviraj’s presence in a big Hindi film. They have been craving for the actor to end his five-year hiatus and return to Bollywood. His performances in ‘Aiyyaa’, ‘Aurangzeb’ and ‘Naam Shabana’ are still widely talked about – proof of the impact they left on Hindi audiences.
