Ever since Daniel Craig has said goodbye to the decades of renowned British spy role, James Bond last year with ‘No Time To Die’, the future of James Bond movies is still very much up in the air. Fans all over the world are still quite curious that who will be the next James Bond. Few rumours were flying around that female James Bond can also arise, after actress, Lashana Lynch played the titular role in ‘No Time To Die’.
Now, actor, Idris Elba is again in the headlines and in talks to play the role of James Bond. Recently a source revealed to The Sun, “Idris has long been in talks to play a role in the next era of James Bond’s story and last year was being considered for a role as an antagonist. However, talks surrounding him playing the lead have started again as producers realised how popular he would be after carrying out secret market research.”
“He ranked highly among the diverse group of movie buffs invited to participate in it. They didn’t want to see him as a nemesis, they want him as the hero”, the source further added.
The James Bond franchises producer, Barbara Broccoli has also admitted the fact that Idris is actually in talks to play the role currently. She also revealed that Elba’s fans also don’t want to see him as a villain anymore and according to her, it’s quite considerable as Elba is working in the industry for a long time now and has become quite a well-known and demanding star.
However there are a lot of possibilities roaming around in the air therefore, hold your breath as anything can happen in near future.
