‘Heropanti 2’ has 4 tracks composed by A.R Rahman that are penned down by Mehboob. The lyricist has given Rahman a number of chartbusters in the past and they are collaborating after a long time. After hearing the album, it’ll be difficult to believe that someone like A.R Rahman has composed the songs.
The first song “Dafa Kar” pronounced as Da Fa Kar, is extremely annoying with this mischievous stress of syllables sounding like the English cuss word. It sounds similar to the song “D.K Bose”. Sung by ARR and HiralViradia, it’s ballsy and trippy but not acceptable from the man who gave us “Tumhe Mohabbat Hai” a few months back. The layers of autotune and tech-based music created through this song is good for a cinematography full of action and a ‘badass’ attitude. Yet, ARR fans will take time processing this.
“Jalwanuma”, sung by Pooja Tiwari and Javed Ali is up next in the album that feels extremely repetitive. The song tries to depict separation by dramatizing the song with electronic beats combined with Dholak but the music arrangement doesn’t fit well. Also, the emotions just don’t hit the right chords.
“Miss Hairan” with its techno vocals is intended to be a party number. However, it failed miserably. The song is good for Tiktok users or it might trend on Instagram reels but there is nothing in this song that feels attractive. One can just watch the song for Tiger’s dance moves.
Tiger Shroff’s debut song in Bollywood, “Whistle Baja 2.0” rebooted with the vocals of Mika Singh and Neeti Mohan is a better song. Although the previous song was much better, it brought back the iconic flute instrumental from ‘Hero’.
Overall the soundtracks are such that not even one song can be heard more than once. The tech-robotic touch wasn’t so necessary for every song. In short, the album has very little versatility to offer.
