The long-term lawsuit between Johnny Depp and his former wife, Amber Heard has got a second trial. The lawsuit was charged by Johnny Depp for defaming him as an abuser by Amber Heard, which was presented to the court in 2020. But back then Johnny Depp lost the case.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard first met at the set of ‘The Rum Diary’ in 2009 and began their relationship in late 2011 and then got married in 2015. On May 23, 2016, Amber filed divorce from Johnny, just few days after his mother’s death. On May 27, Amber showed up and accused Johnny for attacking her with domestic violence.

In August, 2016, the divorce got settled and the two stars released a statement saying, “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.” After the settlement, Amber received $7 million from Johnny and pledged to donate the money to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Although, it’s not confirmed yet that the money was actually donated or not. In January 2017 the couple finally got divorced.

In 2018, Johnny sued The Sun for publishing an article with a sarcastic headline, mentioning Johnny Depp as a “Wife Beater”, which read, “Gone Potty: How can JK Rowling be ‘genuinely happy’ casting wife beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?” Later in the same year, Washington Post published a personal opinion piece of Amber Heard, where she told in an interview that she faced sexual violence, “I write this as a woman who had to change my phone number weekly because I was getting death threats. For months, I rarely left my apartment, and when I did, I was pursued by camera drones and photographers on foot, on motorcycles and in cars. Tabloid outlets that posted pictures of me spun them in a negative light. I felt as though I was on trial in the court of public opinion and my life and livelihood depended on myriad judgments far beyond my control.”

Then in 2019, Johnny Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard and alleged that because of her false allegations, his reputation got damaged and he also lost his iconic roles in some big ventures such as ‘The Pirates Of The Caribbean’ and ‘Fantastic Beast’ film franchises. Later in 2020, Johnny lost the lawsuit against The Sun for mentioning him as a “Wife Beater”.

Now Johnny Depp’s defamation case against Amber Heard has begun again on April 11, 2022 in Virginia, US. Amber took to her Instagram and shared a post regarding the lawsuit and let her all followers and fans know about her current situation.
