The two most prestigious Awards ceremonies just took place this year respectively, The Academy Awards on March 28 and The Grammy Awards on April 3. It is an annual tradition at the international ceremonies to pay tributes to the legendary icons from all over the world, who have passed away last year.
But this year, the two celebrated Award ceremonies have omitted the music legends late Lata Mangeshkar and Disco King Bappi Lahiri from paying tributes this year. Even last year the Bollywood icon, Dilip Kumar was also left out from the ‘In Memoriam’ segment.
The late veteran actor Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, 2021, the late music legends Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022 and Bappi Lahiri passed away just few days after Lata ji, on February 15, 2022.
The whole Bollywood industry, as well as the Indians are currently super annoyed about it and have taken over the social media with storm to express their disappointments on the ceremonies.
The Grammy Awards have paid tributes to the songs by late Broadway composer, Stephen Sondheim, which was performed by Cynthia Erivo, Ben Platt, Rachel Zegler and Leslie Odom Jr. Legendary Tom Parker and Taylor Hawkins were also remembered at the ceremony.
