Singer-music composer Mannan Shaah has worked in movies such as ‘Kucch Luv Jaisa’ (2011), ‘Commando: A One Man Army’ (2013), ‘Commando 2: The Black Money Trail’ (2017), ‘Namaste England’ (2018) and ‘Commando 3’ (2019). He is also famous for using live musical instruments in recordings. He recently became a producer with the Marathi movie ‘Roop Nagar Ke Cheetey’ (2022).
After the sad demise of Lata Mangeshkar, he stated in an exclusive interview with KiaGia.com, “I very fondly remember meeting Lata Ji at the prestigious Dinanath Mangeshkar award along with my Late Guru Padma Vibhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan Sahab. Lata Ji had herself felicitated him with the award. That was the first time I had seen and met her. She carried an aura that was divine. I couldn’t believe my eyes that I had met none other than ‘The Lata Mangeshkar’. With Khan Sahab passing away last year, the world of classical music lost its golden voice! And now this year with Lata Ji passing away, it feels like the music itself has lost its voice. Life suddenly is different post Lata Ji’s demise. I’m sure she must be having a gala time up there in the heavens with all the legends.”
He also took to Twitter to write in her memory. “When it is about her, the creator, she takes us to a point when the creator in her disappears and only CREATION takes over! Rarely does someone possess that quality! While we mourn her loss, let us celebrate the legacy of the one who is irreplaceable!🙏#RIP #LataMangeshkar”, he wrote.
