Race 3 Quick Movie Review

One of the biggest highlights of ‘Race 3’ is its excellent photography. The superb locations, tons of flying bullets, exploding cars, high voltage action and extravagance are visible in every frame. Technically, it’s a very high-quality product. Anil Kapoor’s performance is the only saving grace from the top-notch star cast. Salman Khan disappoints badly. Throughout the film, his expressions are constant. The rest of the star cast, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala, look like junior artists! Looking at it from any angle, the story hardly exists. To make things worse, its horrible screenplay and dialogues are not even functional. In a nutshell, the writing is terrible in all the three departments. In the entire film, there’s hardly any suspense, which was highly sought. Abbas Mustan’s ‘Race’ (2008) and ‘Race 2’ (2013) thrills were totally missing. Director Rohit Shetty would feel complexed if he sees the number of high brand imported cars exploding! Why is the film made in 3D? It is a sheer waste of technology, money and energy on this mindless film. Die-hard fans of Salman Khan too, will be deeply disappointed. In fact, many of them might probably give it a miss. 90% of Remo D’Souza’s work has been taken care of by the action choreographer (Thomas Strenthers) and he misses the boat as they are too long and boring. If Bobby Deol was banking on this one to be his comeback film, he will have to think otherwise! With a horrible first half, there is nothing great in the second half either. If the entire film is re-edited, the result will be the same. Despite being sold by Salman Khan as a family entertainer, there are no real emotional scenes and the entertainment value is clearly missing. The songs are not even worth mentioning. Don’t threaten the audience by making ‘Race 4’!
