Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Chehre’ (2021) has been recently released in theatres across the nation and the audience could not resist appreciating his character. One such highlight is a monologue delivered by Mr. Bachchan.
In this 2:13 minute video, Amitabh Bachchan is seen talking about how Delhi’s acid victim was left unnoticed without providing her justice and the accused was enjoying his life after being given bail. The tears in Mr. Bachchan’s eyes while narrating this story will surely wrench your heart with thousands of ‘whys?’.
He also talks about how justice is not being prevailed in many cases. He suggests that justice should be made the way Indian Armed Force trespasses all boundaries to take revenge from the terrorists.
In the entire monologue, he has given a great thought when he states that he has not blindfolded the idol of the Goddess of Justice and he wants her to see, listen, think and speak.
The line where Mr. Bachchan in his intense voice states, “Insaaf Kagaz Ki Tukdo se nahi hota, Aapki kitabo se nahi hota, Adalat ki kalam ki sihayi se nahi hota… insaaf hota hai insaano ki dil par, unki zehen par, unki rooh par…” (Justice is not done by a piece of paper, not by one’s own book, not by the word of the court… Justice is done on the heart of human beings, where they are, on their souls) will surely leave you with goosebumps. Such is the striking, provoking and impactful monologue.
