Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur’s much awaited film ‘Toofan’ directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra trailer is out now. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak, Hussain Dalal, Mohan Agashe and Darshan Kumar.
The film marks Farhan Akhtar and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s second collaboration after ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013).
In this film, Farhan Akhtar is playing Aziz Ali, a local goon who usually goes by the name of Ajju Bhai. He gets into brawls, bullies and intimidates people, but eventually learns that people cowering in fear at sight of him does not equate to respect. He eventually finds a purpose in boxing. Coached by Nana Prabhu (Paresh Rawal), Ali becomes a renowned boxer in the athletic world. His romantic interest with Pooja (Mrunal Thakur) also motivates him to lead a life of honesty. Farhan Akhtar’s character is shown to be tainted by an unnamed scandal, after which he was banned from the ring. But it is hinted that he will make a comeback.
The film is set to release on Amazon Prime Videos on July 16, 2021. However, the film was supposed to release way before, but due to the pandemic, it got delayed.
