Rasika Dugal looks forward to exciting work with upcoming projects such as ‘Delhi Crime Season 2’, ‘Out Of Love Season 2’ and ‘Lord Curzon Ki Haveli’ in the pipeline. With a packed slate, the actor remembers the second anniversary of Aijaz Khan’s ‘Hamid’ (2018) with a special post on her social media.
The story of the film revolves around a seven-year-old Hamid searching for his father. The ‘Mirzapur’ (2018) actor fondly remembers being apprehensive about signing up for the film as it demanded dialect training in a limited time span. She was seen essaying the role of a Kashmiri woman with a son who’s looking for his missing father. The actor earned tremendous appreciation for the role of a grieving wife and a dejected mother and she won the Best Actor Award for it at Rajasthan International Film Festival. The film went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Urdu at the 66th National Film Awards.
In the caption of the post, she wrote, “Some experiences leave lasting impressions #2yearsofHamid. For those who haven’t watched the film, #Hamid directed by @jazkhan is on @netflix_in . @yoodleefilms @strictlyvikas #ishrat ”

Taking a walk down the memory lane, the actor says, “Shooting in Kashmir always moves me in an indescribable way. Before we started filming, I spent a few days in Badarkot village ( where the film was primarily shot) to prepare for the part. I spent many afternoons with the women of the village. We chatted away about so many things, from politics to love to Instagram!! We giggled through me trying to pick up their accent. And spent much time cleaning, cooking and eating the fresh and delicious ‘haak’ (a type of ‘saag’ you get in Kashmir). I was touched by their spirit, their strength, sensitivity and effortless courage. There is something so haunting and inspiring about that courage.”
