The international show ‘Citadel’ (2023), featuring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden and created by Russo Brothers, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The makers have confirmed that ‘Citadel’ will have multiple versions in different countries. The Indian version is led by Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Now, it has come to light that Varun has made his international debut of sorts with his brief voiceover in the English version of the series, confirming the universe’s interconnectivity.
The fifth episode, which was recently dropped on the OTT platform, shows that Priyanka Chopra’s character Nadia Sinh has a secret kid with Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden and that she has kept the news hidden. In the flashback portion from eight years ago, she calls the terrorist Rahi Gambhir, played by Paul Bazely, in an attempt to relocate to Spain after learning of her pregnancy. When Mason and Osy Ikhile question her for contacting Gambhir, she admits that the man is, in fact, her father. He assists her in escaping Citadel in order to flee to Spain. Surprisingly, the voice during the call is dubbed by none other than Varun Dhawan. In the end credits, Varun’s name is mentioned as the makers thank him and this confirms the connection between the shows.
The six-episode series, created by Russo Brothers’ AGBO and showrunner David Weil, stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville. Meanwhile, Raj and DK are directing the Indian version of ‘Citadel’.
