Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan are prominent Bollywood stars today. A decade ago, they made their debut on this very day, October 19, with Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ in 2012, which is still one of the most loved school campus story in Bollywood.
Who knew that the bubbly girl Alia, hot-shot guy Sidharth and flirty boy Varun would become top priority actors within a decade? Till now, several actors have gone through difficult paths and choose various genre films to come to this stage. But the trio did it with their very debut!
‘Student Of The Year’ also had super-hit music. The foot-tapping number “Disco Deewane”, the romantic “Ishq Wala Love”, that peppy shaadi track “Radha”, the enthusiastic exam song “Ratta Maar” and last but not the least, the night out song “Vele”, all the tracks have their individual essence and hence the music album was a complete package. All the five songs still give us contrasting feelings without any doubt.
While being nostalgic with the film, Karan Johar revealed, “Sid, Varun and Alia went on to become my family…besides my mom they are the three people I think I talk to every single day… I never knew way back then that I would have children of my own …but my first protective parental feeling was for all three of them… I love you SID! I love you VARUN and I love you ALIA (yes yes I know I am not supposed to keep saying it but what the heck love is love )… I say it to my kids and I want to say it to all 3 of you…Love you to the moon and back.”
After ‘Student Of The Year’, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan have done several individual films of their own with striking stories and have grabbed audiences’ attention quite well like ‘Highway’ (2014), ‘Dear Zindagi’ (2016), ‘Raazi’ (2018), ‘Ek Villain’ (2014), ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ (2016), ‘Shershaah’ (2021), ‘ABCD 2’ (2015), ‘Badlapur’ (2015), ‘October’ (2018) and still going on. But ‘Student of The Year’ will always make us emotional.
Although the trio, Alia, Sidharth and Varun haven’t collaborated for the second time yet, we would love to watch the trio together with an amazing story again in near future.
